ELKHART -- Priscilla I. Gardner, 80, of Elkhart, passed away at 11:05 p.m. Tuesday (Sept. 7, 2010) at her residence.

She was born May 13, 1930, in Bentley Creek, Pa., to Joseph and Louise (Rodebaugh) Whipple. On Sept. 26, 1950, she married Fred C. Gardner in Goshen.

He survives along with two sons, Michael (Cheryl) Gardner of Elkhart and Joseph (Ruth) Gardner of Cassopolis, Mich.; one brother, Paul (Alegera) Whipple of Sebring, Fla.; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

In addition to being a wonderful homemaker, Priscilla worked as a clerk for the Cass County Health Department. She enjoyed spending time with her two sons and grandchildren.

Her family would like to thank the Center for Hospice and Palliative Care, especially Christy, for the loving care she provided.

Private memorial services will be held for Priscilla at a later date.

Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart, has been entrusted with the arrangements.
