NAMPA, Idaho — Pierce Vinson Heiliger, 1, of Nampa, formerly of Elkhart, Ind., passed away Wednesday, Aug. 8, 2012, at Elkhart General Hospital.

Pierce was born July 22, 2011, to Jessamyn Fields and Dennis Heiliger in Elkhart.

Surviving are his mother Jessamyn Fields of Nampa, Father Dennis R. Heiliger of Elkhart; brother Grayson Hamdami; sister Ella Heiliger; maternal grandparents Janet (Rennie) Heuer of Nampa and paternal grandparents Kip (Dianna Sue) Heiliger of Granger, Ind.

Visitation will be for two hours before the noon Saturday, Aug. 11, 2012, funeral services at Trinity Lutheran Church 30888 C.R. 6, Elkhart. The Rev. Spencer A. Mielke will officiate.

Burial will follow in Zion Cemetery, Bristol, Ind.

Pierce's life from day one had been a struggle, but he had a zest for life and never gave up and continued to fight, always with a smile.

In this time of grief, it gives Jessamyn and the family a sense of comfort knowing the positive impact that his legacy has left. His mother has been overwhelmed by the outpouring of love and support and cannot possibly thank all those who have touched and supported her during Pierce's short but incredible life.
