ELKHART — Phyllis E. Snyder, 94, of Elkhart, formerly of Niles, Mich., passed away Wednesday, March 27, 2013, at Valley View Health Care Center, Elkhart.
She was born Sept. 3, 1918, in Niles to Phillip and Evelyn (Perry) Lander.
She married Richard K. Snyder on Feb. 15, 1946, in Kansas City, Kan. He preceded her in death Dec. 18, 1998.
She is survived by two daughters, Shirley A. Bailey of Elkhart and Linda E. Kinch of South Bend; six grandchildren, Jeff, Laurie, Colleen, Andy, Rich and Christy; 10 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Richard K. Snyder Jr.; and two sisters, Jayne Nelson and Marilyn Horvath.
God has called our beloved mother home to be with him in heaven. Our mom was a tender and loving woman. We will always remember her kind smile and loving ways.
The family will receive friends 30 minutes prior to the 8:30 a.m. funeral service Saturday, March 30, 2013, at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart. Pastor Rick Pirtle of Riverview General Baptist Church, Elkhart, will officiate.
Interment will follow at 10:45 a.m. at Mission Hills Memorial Gardens, Niles.
