Phyllis A. Wood, 77, of Elkhart, passed away on Tuesday, December 13, 2022 at Elkhart Place.

Phyllis was born on March 27, 1945 in Laporte, IN to the late Daniel and Masselene (Allen) Smith. She married the love of her life, Ronald E. Wood on May 20, 1967. Ron passed away on February 22, 2015.

Phyllis is survived by her son, Michael (Wendy) Wood of Elkhart; grandson, Sean Wood and sister, Carolyn (Rick) Rozhon of Valparaiso, IN.

Phyllis worked in the financial departments of various local businesses including the Toll Road, as a home health aide, and finally retiring from WorkOne. In her spare time, Phyllis was an avid reader, especially Danielle Steele. She listened to Elvis Presley and enjoyed watching his films. Phyllis also enjoyed visiting the Amish stores in Shipshewana.  In her later years, she enjoyed playing Bingo with her friends.

Phyllis was an independent and strong-willed woman.  She was an animal lover and adored her Schnauzer dogs.

A Funeral Service celebrating Phyllis's Life will begin 11:00am on Wednesday, December 21, 2022 at Adamsville Road Church of God, 51287 County Road 7, Elkhart, IN 46514 with Pastor Glenn McClimans officiating.

Visitation will be from 10:00am to 11:00am an hour prior to the start of the service at the church.

Burial will be at Little Pine Cemetery.
