Phyllis was an avid gardener, and was passionate about keeping tidy and productive flower, vegetable and fruit gardens. She enjoyed spending time with and cooking for her children and grandchildren, making her signature pies and pampering them with all types of homemade fare. She also liked to sew, spend time decorating her home and take care of her pet beagles. She attended Dunlap and Bristol United Methodist Churches. Memorial donations made in Phyllis' memory may be given to the Humane Society of Elkhart County in honor of her beagles Miss Polly and Miss Katie.
