ANGOLA -- Phyllis Mae Eairleywine, 84, of 4872 N. 450 West and formerly of Elkhart, died Saturday (Oct. 27, 2007) at 7:45 a.m. after an extended illness at Northern Lakes Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Angola.

She was born May 21, 1923, in Elkhart to Bernard and Marie (Minor) Jones. She married Robert V. Eairleywine in Hopkinsville, Ky., on Feb. 6, 1943.

He survives along with one brother, Carl (Mary) Jones of Elkhart.

She was preceded in death by one brother, Robert H.L. Jones, and one sister, Helen Mathews.

Visitation is set for 10 a.m. to noon Wednesday at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St. A procession to Rice Cemetery follows at noon, where a graveside service will be held.

Mrs. Eairleywine was a production worker at Taylor Products in Elkhart for 22 years until retiring in 1968. She enjoyed the outdoors, traveling, fishing, swimming and attending yard sales, especially while wintering in Mission, Texas. She enjoyed animals and her dogs.
