Obituary
MISHAWAKA — Phyllis J. Dunbar, 88, of Mishawaka and formerly of Elkhart, passed away Tuesday, June 3, at Michiana Health and Rehabilitation in Mishawaka.
She was born Sept. 14, 1925, in Onsted, Mich., to the late George D. and Harriett E. Breese.
On Oct. 4, 1941, she married the late Charles W. Dunbar in Napoleon, Ohio. He died April 29, 2006.
Surviving are her children, Nancy Reed of South Bend, Charlette Ziegler of Westfield, Carol (Robert) Hayes of Mishawaka, Linda (Carroll) Smith of Janesville, Wis., and Charles L. Dunbar of Mishawaka; 13 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Charlene Dee Dunbar, and grandsons Aaron Smith and Derick Ziegler.
Phyllis was a loving homemaker for more than 65 years.
Visitation for family and friends will be for an hour prior to the noon Tuesday, June 10, funeral service at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart. The Rev. Robert Puhr will officiate. Interment will be at a later date in Oak Grove Cemetery, Hillsdale, Mich.
