Phillip R. Begley, 73, of Elkhart, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, February 12, 2024, at his residence. He was born in Sturgis, MI on September 11, 1950, to the late Chester and Lucille M. (Blowers) Begley.

Phillip is also preceded in death by his sister and brother-in-law, Brenda and John Grossman. He is survived by his children, Greg (Diana) Begley, Krystina (Todd) Fielder, and Angelyn Begley; grandchildren, Mariah Smith, Eric Begley, Joanna Begley, Trevor Martin, Carter Martin, Misty Fielder, and Blake Fielder; great grandson, James Martin; brothers, David Begley, Harold Begley, Sheldon (Pam) Begley, and Larry (Vicky) Begley.

Phillip was a kind and caring family man who was always very giving of his time. He worked as a purchasing agent for Skyline for over 30 years before retiring. In his spare time, he would often take hiking and camping trips with his family to county and state parks. Phillip was famous for taking the more scenic routes on these trips where he enjoyed all of nature's beauty with his family.

Family meant the world to Phillip. He would do everything he could to never miss a single family game night, birthday, or holiday with his children and grandchildren. He used to attend several minor league baseball games with his children. Phillip enjoyed tending to his garden, planting both flowers and a variety of vegetables. It was here that he would form a close bond with his many neighbors who enjoyed his company. When he needed some quiet time, he read westerns and mystery novels. Phillip will be dearly missed by his loving family and friends.

A private family memorial service will take place at a later date. Billings Funeral Home of Elkhart is assisting the family with arrangements.
