ELKHART -- Phillip A. "Rebel" Wilson, 61, of Elkhart, passed away at 5:35 p.m. Thursday (July 28, 2011) at Hospice House of Elkhart from complications suffered while working in the excessive heat several days ago.
He was born in South Bend on Feb. 1, 1950, to the late Carl and Ruth (Adams) Wilson.
Surviving are his daughter, Candace A. "Kandi" (Jim) Oltman of Elkhart; sons Chris R. (Jennifer) Wilson of Mishawaka and Shannon M. G. (Laura Post) Wilson of Pasadena, Calif.; sisters Carol A. Warlick, Phyllis A. (John) Crabtree and Beverly J. Wilson, all of Elkhart; and his former spouse and mother of his children, Clara A. "Ann" Wilson of Elkhart.
Phillip was preceded in death by a brother, Herschel, and a grandson, Collin Wilson.
No services have been scheduled and Rebel has been cremated. Burial will take place at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Rice Cemetery. Billings Funeral Home has been assisting the family with arrangements.
Phillip was a local delivery driver for Homan Lumber of Elkhart for more than 23 years. Memorial contributions may be donated to the Center for Hospice.
