ELKHART — Philip D. "Phil" Neuenschwander, 49, of Elkhart, passed away Sunday, Nov. 20, 2011, at his home after a battle with cancer.
Phil was born Nov. 30, 1961, in Decatur to Stanley W. and Doris (Edelman) Neuenschwander. He married Marie V. Basket on Dec. 21, 2002, in Elkhart.
She survives as well as a son, Erich Neuenschwander; daughters Beth A. Neuenschwander and Andrea (EJ) McFarland; father Stanley W. (Becky) Neuenschwander; mother Doris Neuenschwander; brother David (Michele) Neuenschwander; sisters Mary K. Edwards and Rebecca (Jim) Haney; half brother Chris (Amy) Neuenschwander; and half sister Heidi (Jeff) Veal.
Brother-in-law Paul F. Basket preceded him in death.
Phil graduated in 1980 from Elkhart Memorial. He formerly worked at Dexter Chassis Group, Double T Manufacturing, SoundTech and Dave's Grocery. He enjoyed woodworking, built cat trees and will be missed by his cat, Lex.
Friends may call for two hours prior to the 4 p.m. Sunday service at Billings Funeral Home. Pastor Jon Faux will officiate. Cremation will follow.
Memorials may be given to Phil's family.
