PEYTON NICOLE SILVA-BONTRAGER
October 30, 2008 – November 20, 2011
ELKHART- Peyton Nicole Silva-Bontrager, age 3, beloved daughter, granddaughter, niece and child, passed away at Riley Hospital for Children in Indianapolis on Sunday, November 20, 2011 following a head injury resulting from a tragic accident at home. She was born October 30, 2008 at Wishard Hospital in Indianapolis to Amanda Bontrager and Gerardo Silva of Elkhart. Other survivors include 2 brothers, Lucero Angel and Tyler Bontrager; sister, Shayla Medrano; grandparents; Joann Bontrager and Quincy Bontrager Sr., both of Elkhart; many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Peyton was a very loving, independent and determined young girl. Happy and playful, she loved her daddy, mommy and family so very much. She liked putting make-up on, playing at the park and being a big kid. She very much enjoyed trips out to eat with her father, especially to get tamales. She was greatly loved by all and will be dearly missed. Through her death, life goes on, as Peyton's heart was donated to save another child's life at the Riley Hospital for Children, as well as eight other organs which will be donated to children in need.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, December 1, 2011 at St. Vincent DePaul Catholic Church, 1108 South Main Street, Elkhart. The Rev. Glenn Kohrman will officiate. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the funeral. Burial will follow in St. Vincent's Cemetery, Elkhart.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Peyton Silva-Bontrager Memorial Fund at any Teacher's Credit Union location.
The family would like to the staff and pastors at Riley Hospital for Children for the wonderful work they do, as well as Sue Richardson-Calhoun of Teacher's Credit Union.
