Mrs. Penny I. Young, 62, of Elkhart, passed away peacefully at her home following a courageous battle with cancer on Monday, Nov. 4, 2019 at 8:12 pm. She was born Feb. 11, 1957 in Charleston, WV to the late Carl Edward and Janice Lee (McNeely) Craigo, and later married James Steven "Steve" Young on Sept. 23, 2000 in Elkhart. He survives at home after 19 wonderful years together.

Other survivors include her children Mark (Meredith) Hinds and Sara (Nate) Seigler; step-children Clayton and Dewey (Lexi) Young; grandchildren Andrew and Emily Hinds, Seth and Alyssa Seigler and Jocelyn Young; sister Sherry (Gary) Ketcham and brother Randy (Ginger) Craigo. A step son, Nathan Young and a brother, Roger Craigo, precede Penny in death.

Penny's Celebration of Life services will be held Friday, Nov. 8, 2019 at 11:00 am at Billings Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Elkhart. Viewing will begin at 10 am and Pastor Ed Ritchie of the Elkhart County Community Baptist Church will officiate. Burial will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Osceola.

Penny was an insurance agent for American Family Insurance Dunlap office for many years. She absolutely loved to spend time with her family and grandchildren and was a huge fan and supporter of Concord High School athletics as well. She also enjoyed cooking, camping and traveling to places like the Grand Canyon, Hawaii, California and Yosemite.
