She was born Dec. 3, 1938, in Arista, W.Va., to the late Raymond and Gladys (Pennington) Parks. She married Gene C. Davis in Bluewell, W.Va., on Oct. 11, 1957. He survives her at home.

Also surviving are their children, Rose (Dennis Bloss) Stanley, Diana (Tom) Datena, Teresa Allen and Jeffery (Elise) Davis, all of Elkhart; 11 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Her brothers, Danny and Jesse, and sisters Frona, Hattie, Rita and Janice, all survive as well.

A sister, Betty Gayle, preceded Peggy in death.

A celebration of Peggy's life will begin with a visitation at Billings Funeral Home of Elkhart from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, March 27. A funeral service will be 10 a.m. Saturday, March 28, with visitation for an hour prior, at Adamsville Road Church of God, 51287 C.R. 7, Elkhart. Pastor Mike Stadelmayer will officiate. Burial will follow in Prairie Street Cemetery in Elkhart.

Peggy was a fiercely passionate and devoted woman who was known for her sly wit and generous spirit. She never let anyone leave her house with an empty stomach. She celebrated holidays with fervor, and she was especially enthusiastic about Christmas. Her family was her number one priority, and if she loved someone, she would be that person's most vehement defender in adversity.

Memorial donations may be given to the church. Online condolences may reach the family at www.billingsfuneralhome.com.
