Paulette Marie Simmons, 76, of Elkhart, passed away on Monday, November 2, 2020 at the Center for Hospice Care of Elkhart. She was born in North Charleroi, PA on June 9, 1944 to the late Paul Phillip and Margret (Labick) Zelenko.

Paulette is survived by her loving husband, Donald W. Simmons; daughter, Deborah (Bill) Russo; brother, Paul (Sheryl) Zelenko; sister, Cheryl (Jim) Burgoyne; six grandchildren, Shane Simmons, Casey Oliver, Amanda Oliver, Anthony Russo, Dominick Russo, and Gina Hornor; seven great grandchildren; and beloved pet, Hatchi. She is preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Donna Oliver; sister, Janet Zelenko; and loyal friend, Maggie.

Paulette was married to Donald Simmons, the love of her life, on December 31, 1961 where they spent 58 wonderful years by each other's side. She worked at JcPenny's as a bookkeeper for several years but mostly enjoyed being a homemaker. Paulette was very laid back and enjoyed her life. When she was younger, she loved to dance and put together flower arrangements. She was very creative and enjoyed putting together picture collages to share with her family and friends.

In accordance with her family's wishes, cremation was chosen and will take place at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin Street in Elkhart and Altera Cremation Services. A private family celebration of life gathering will take place at a later date.
