ELKHART — Paula K. Burke, 64, of Elkhart, passed away peacefully at 11:10 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 18, 2013, at Elkhart Hospice House, after a brief illness.
She was born Sept. 10, 1948, in Lowville, N.Y., to Francis M. and Betty J. (Lucas) Burke.
Left to cherish her memory are her son, Ryan T. Burke of Bristol; two sisters, Sandra J. (Robert) Hartman of Columbia, Mo., and Brenda (Jonathan) Horvath of Elkhart; brother Morris E. (Elaine) Burke of Elkhart; mother Betty J. Guthrie of Elkhart; two granddaughters, Logan and Jordan Burke of Bristol; nephew Christopher Hartman of Columbia; and a niece, Josondra Horvath of Birmingham, Mich.
She was preceded in death by her father and a sister, JoAnn Burke.
Paula was blessed with her work family of 29 years at L. E. Johnson Hardware, where she was a ray of sunshine to all who knew her.
In accordance with her wishes, cremation will take place and no public services are to be held.
Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart is entrusted with the arrangements.
Memorial contributions may be made to Elkhart Hospice House, which provided tender loving care, 22579 Old U.S. 20 East, Elkhart, IN 46516.
