ELKHART — Paul L. Woolwine, 78, of Elkhart, went to sleep Monday morning, Dec. 10, 2012, and woke up in the arms of his loving savior, Jesus Christ.
Paul was born on May 7, 1934, in Mercer, Va., to the late Brainard F. and Ethel (Cecil) Woolwine.
In addition to his parents, a sister, Dora Mae Lucas and brothers Randolph, Robert and Billy Woolwine and Garfield Cecil preceded him in death.
He married Ailene Louise Nunn on March 15, 1952, in Bastin, Va. She passed away on Nov. 4, 2009.
Surviving are a son, Duane (Aretha) Woolwine; and daughters Bonnie Wogoman, Diane Hively and Brenda (Doug) McDaniel, all of Elkhart; as well as 11 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind his sisters, Sylvia Perkins of Flint, Mich., Peggy Vest of Elkhart and Kathleen Kettle of Flint; and a brother, Basil (Nancy) Woolwine of Davison, Mich.
Paul was a truck driver, and worked for 20th Century Fiberglass for 25 years, retiring in 1996.
He was a member of Elkhart Church of God and enjoyed spending time with his family and piddling in his barn.
Friends may visit with the family from 5 to 8 p.m. today, Dec. 12, 2012, and one hour prior to the 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 13, 2012, funeral service at Billings Funeral Home Funeral, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart. Pastor B.J. Bishop will officiate.
Burial will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
Memorials may be given to the family.
