He was born Aug. 19, 1935, in Cairo, Egypt, to Guirguis and Nour (Stafanos) Scheretie. He married Linda Schfic on Oct. 27, 1992, in Cairo.

She survives along with four sons, Adel, Raymon, George and Emerson Scheretie, all of Elkhart; 10 grandchildren; and one great-grandson.

Friends may call one hour prior to Friday's 11 a.m. funeral service at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart. Burial will follow in Little Pine Cemetery, Goshen.

Mr. Sheretie was an engineer and a pastor. He did mission work and started churches all around the world. Mr. Scheretie was deeply religious and spoke more than 20 languages. At one time, he was an interpreter for the Rev. Billy Graham. He enjoyed calligraphy and art.
