Paul Jules Minne, 75, of Elkhart, IN passed away unexpectedly on Friday, March 7, 2025 at Elkhart General Hospital.
Paul was born on March 30, 1949 in Mishawaka to Paul C. Minne and Louise M. (Smith) Minne. He married his best friend and love of his life, Jean M. (Padgett) Minne. He is survived by his younger brother, John Minne of Tarpley, TX and his loving baby sister, Jackie Minne of Fort Myers, FL. He is preceded in death by his father, Paul C. Minne and mother, Louise M. (Smith) Minne.
Paul and his spouse of 30+ years shared 6 children, William Craver of Dayton, OH; Michael Craver of Elkhart; Kevin (Emily) Minne of Woodbridge, VA; Jill Minne of Constantine, MI; John (Amy) Puzneak of Constantine, MI; and Shaun (Rosie) Napier of Elkhart; 13 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
Paul attended Penn High School where he played basketball. He continued his education at Indiana State University in Terra Haute, IN, where he earned his bachelor's degree in business. Paul still holds the record for the most scored points in a sectional basketball game at North Side Gym. He dedicated his life to sharing his passion for basketball with younger generations. He spent years coaching 7th and 8th grade basketball at St. Thomas School in Elkhart, IN. He also was an assistant basketball coach at St. Joseph High School helping them advance to the Final Four.
Paul was a successful businessman who loved to support emerging businesses. He enjoyed boating, golfing and his weekly card games. He loved Notre Dame Football, the Chicago Bears and the Chicago Cubs. Most of all, Paul was best known for his love of his family and close friends.
Paul was often found cheering on his grandchildren at their sporting events. When he was not there, he was at his home surrounded by family enjoying life. He was full of life and always busy pursuing his next dream.
Paul was a force of a man that could always be counted on to help out anyone. He was often there to support not only his family but everyone near him. He loved and lived life to the fullest. Life will not be the same without his energy.
In keeping with Paul's wishes, there will be no public services.
Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart, IN 46514 is assisting the family.
