Paul L. "Les" Shurgott, 91, of Elkhart, passed away peacefully of natural causes at Riverside Village in Elkhart on Friday, Mar. 1, 2019 at 4:25 am.

He was born in Monongahela, PA on Dec. 20, 1927 to the late Paul and Agnes (Laird) Shurgott and married Anna Mae Moser on Aug. 23, 1949 in Tarentum, PA. She passed away in Elkhart in 2009.

Surviving are children Gary L. Shurgott and Paula (George) Winters and grandchildren William and David Winters.

Les is preceded in death by a brother, Charles "Bud" Shurgott, a sister, Jane Shurgott and a granddaughter, Amy Winters.

Visitation for Les will be held Thursday, Mar. 7, 2019 from 5-7 pm at Billings Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Elkhart, followed by a service there at 7:00 pm. A private burial will follow at Little Pine Cemetery in Goshen. Pastor Neil Milliman of the Elkhart Church of Christ will officiate.

Paul served in the ministry for several years before becoming a fire and safety insurance engineer, which he did for over 40 years. He was a member and past president of the Elkhart
