UNION, Mich. -- Patrick "Pat" D. Yocum, 44, of Union, Mich., went home to be with the Lord at 6:49 a.m. on Friday (Sept. 17, 2010) while at Elkhart (Ind.) General Hospital.
He was born Jan. 7, 1966, in Hammond, Ind., to Ralph and Jeanie (McMahon) Yocum.
On Feb. 2, 2002, he married JoAnn (Coffman) Yocum. She survives.
Other survivors include a daughter, Julie (Larry) Stewart of Bristol, Ind.; son, Ryan Laudick of San Marcos, Calif.; two brothers, John Yocum, formerly of Elkhart and Carter (Missy) Yocum of Vincennes, Ind.; two sisters, Jennifer Reed and Tom Marozsan of Crown Point, Ind., and Colleen Yocum of Ohio; stepmother, Marcia Yocum; stepfather, Jim McMahon of Dyer, Ind.; two grandsons, Robert and Connar Stewart, both of Bristol; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Lisa Yocum, and a brother, Mark Yocum.
Pat was the owner and operator of Best Bet Fabrication for more than 18 years. He enjoyed fishing, traveling, riding his Harley, collecting and listening to music. He dearly loved his friends, family and especially his grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 5 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 21, at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart, followed by funeral services beginning at 7 p.m. Pastor Dwight Gosser of New Life Christian Center will officiate.
Memorial contributions may be given to Alcoholics Anonymous or the National Kidney Foundation.
