Patrick M. Leslie, 81, of Elkhart, also known as the "Red Baron", passed away on Thursday, March 20, 2025, at the Elkhart Meadows Nursing Home. He was born in Chicago, IL on February 5, 1944, to Ben and LaVerne (Cox) Leslie.

His family moved to Jimtown in 1949. Patrick attended Baugo Elementary and later Jimtown High School. In 1965, he joined the Army and was stationed in Fort Sheridan Illinois and was discharged in 1967. In 1987 he married Shirley (Dunithan) Leslie. Shirley preceded him in death in 2017.

Patrick is survived by his sister, Diane (Darl) Sult of Three Rivers, MI; several nieces and nephews; and sister-in-law, Mildred Leslie of Riverside, CA; and stepdaughter, Elizabeth Brewer. Besides his parents and his wife, Shirley, he was also preceded in death by his siblings, William "Bill" Leslie, Ben "Brian" Leslie, Sharon McKelvey and Arlene Kurtz.

Patrick helped his mother at her antique store she had and did a lot of trading. He was a man with a very good heart. He had a very close friend, Janet Vandehei, who made sure he was taken care of along with his guardian Erika.

Patrick will be laid to rest with his father, Ben, at Prairie Street Cemetery, 401 E Hively Ave. in Elkhart on Tuesday, April 8, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. Friends and family are welcome to share a memory of Patrick.
