BRISTOL — Patricia L. "Pat" Edwards, 79, of Bristol, passed to her rest Wednesday, April 22, in her home.
She was born Jan. 12, 1936, in Millersburg, to the late Hardin Edward and Geneva (Stabler) Mackey.
Pat married Donald R. Edwards on Nov. 28, 1954, in South Bend. Donald passed on April 30, 2012.
Surviving are three daughters, Jennifer (Bill) Albaugh of Elkhart, Betsy Carmean of Bristol and Amy (Doug) Wardlow of Elkhart; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, an infant daughter, Janey Jolene Edwards, preceded her in death.
Pat graduated from South Bend Riley High School and then attended the Indiana Business College in Indianapolis. She worked as a key punch operator for a time with IBM in South Bend before becoming a housewife and mother.
She was a former member of the Elkhart Moose, the Elks Lodge and the DAR. She liked to collect rocks, enjoyed genealogy and was the family historian. Her most special times were spent with her family and spoiling her grandkids.
Services celebrating her life will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 26, with visitation for an hour prior, at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart. The Rev. Jerry Pickrell will officiate. In keeping with her wishes, cremation has taken place. Burial will be at a later date.
The family kindly requests memorials be made to The Center for Hospice Care or the Alzheimer's Association.
