ELKHART -- Patricia Ann Johnson, 55, of Elkhart, died at 5:25 a.m. Tuesday (Dec. 30, 2008) in Valley View Healthcare Center.

She was born Nov. 23, 1953, in Elkhart to Charles Albert Jr. and Joan (DeMyer) Willis. She married James L. Johnson.

He survives along with two sons, Richard Willis and Roy Thomas, both of Elkhart; one daughter, Pepper Thomas of Elkhart; her mother of Elkhart; five grandchildren; two brothers, Dale Willis of Houston, and Robert "Bobby" Willis of Austin, Texas; and one sister, Barb Willis of Elkhart.

She was preceded in death by her father; one sister, Rebecca Willis; and one brother, William Willis.

Mrs. Johnson had worked as a machine operator for more than 15 years at Manchester Tank, Elkhart. At one time she was a cook at both the Waterfall and Bulldog restaurants in Elkhart. She enjoyed singing, playing the accordion, working on fill-in books and spending time with her family. She liked to play the lottery and scratch off tickets.

A service to celebrate her life will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the Salvation Army, 300 N. Main St., Elkhart. Cpt. Steve Woodard will officiate. Cremation has taken place.
