ELKHART — Patricia "Pat" Eason Hall, 76, of Elkhart, departed this life at 12:30 p.m. March 24 at Elkhart General Hospital.
Pat was born March 22, 1938, in Hickman, Ky., to the late Onnie Leroy and Georgia V. Smith.
She was a 1956 graduate of Elkhart High School and attended Elkhart Business College. She worked at the Elkhart County Sheriff's Department from 1977 to 2001. She was also a substitute teacher for Elkhart schools.
She enjoyed attending and was a member of St. James AME Church and served in many capacities; she was particularly proud of serving as director of the after-school literacy program. She enjoyed hanging out with her grandchildren and traveling.
Surviving are her only child, Tatum "Teddy" Eason (companion Helen Baskin)of Elkhart; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; stepmother Juanita Smith; favorite cousin Carolyn Nelson; and best friend Gloria C. Edgerton.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 5, at St. James AME Church. The Rev. Jennifer Tinsley will officiate. Interment will be at a later date in Rice Cemetery.
