ELKHART -- Patricia Carol Calvin, 74, of Elkhart and Niles, Mich., died at 2:55 a.m. Tuesday (Jan. 27, 2009) in Elkhart General Hospital.

She was born Nov. 16, 1934, in South Bend to Howard and Elizabeth (Kushto) Alward. On Oct. 10, 1953, she married Robert Calvin in South Bend. He died April 23, 1987, in Fort Wayne.

Mrs. Calvin is survived by one son, Lawrence Calvin of Tampa, Fla.; two daughters, Vikki (Mark) Deedrick of Winterhaven, Fla., and Gail Wolz of Niles; two grandchildren; and two brothers, James (Bess) Alward of South Bend and Jack (Carol) Alward of LaPorte.

Mrs. Calvin was a licensed administrator in health care and long-term care facilities, specializing in nutrition. She owned the former Calico Kitchens, Mishawaka, and was a graduate of Riley High School. She enjoyed cooking, sewing and hand quilting.

There will be no visitation or service. Cremation will take place. Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., is in charge of arrangements.
