Patricia "Patty" Ann Ortiz, 67, of Elkhart, passed away after a battle with Cancer on Sunday, October 5, 2025 at her home.

Patricia was born on December 31, 1957 in Little Rock, AR to the late, Carlton Lamar Bowen and Dorothy (Melvin) Bowen. She married the love of her life, Pedro Ortiz on Mother's Day in 1981.

Patricia is survived by her husband of 44 years, Pedro Ortiz of Elkhart; siblings, Pamela Harris of Vernon, FL, Charles Bowen and Bonita Cabrera, both of Elkhart; and many loving nieces and nephews whom she treated as her own.

Patricia attended River of Life Church in Elkhart for many years. She read the Bible often and applied the scripture to her life.

Patricia was a well-loved supervisor at Brill Furniture Company in Elkhart for 47 years. She was a hard worker who also worked at Chicken Coop, Luigis and Kroger's. Patricia was athletic and enjoyed playing basketball and softball. In her younger years, she was a high school cheerleader.

In her spare time, Patricia enjoyed working on jigsaw puzzles and cooking.

Patricia became everyone's mom. She believed in treating everyone with kindness and respect. Patricia would help anyone in need. Although she may have been strict, it was done out of love.

A Gathering of family and friends will be held on Friday, October 10, 2025 from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart, IN 46514.
