Ora "Sonny" E. Groover, 86, of Elkhart, IN passed away on Monday, February 24, 2025, at his residence. He was born in Elwood, IN to the late James E. Groover and Catherine (Owens) Thompson.

Sonny is also preceded in death by his sister, Nancy Groover. He is survived by his siblings, Mary Jo Kennerd of Middlebury, Melanie Zook of Columbus, Kevin Groover of Columbus and his caregiver, Lisa Lambuth of Elkhart.

Cremation was chosen and will take place at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St. in Elkhart. Memorial donations may be made in Sonny's memory to the Heart to Heart Hospice Foundation, 7240 Chase Oaks Blvd, Plano, TX 75025.

Sonny was an independent man who worked for local factories in the area including, Hal-Met Metal in Elkhart and Fabwell in Middlebury. He was a muscle car enthusiast and could play a mean game of poker; he sported one of the best poker faces around. In his spare time he enjoyed watching the occasional Basketball game on T.V.
