She was born Nov. 12, 1957, in Sturgis, Mich., to Henry A. and Patricia B. (Ludwick) Hyska.

She married William "Bill" Hoover on May 11, 1996, in Syracuse.

Surviving are her husband of more than 20 years Bill Hoover of Elkhart; son Frank Hoover of Warsaw; two sisters, Kathy (Charles) Sikorski and Susan (Leo) Wagner; two brothers, Frank (Linda) Hyska and Anthony (Cathy) Hyska; and her mother, Patricia B. Hyska, all of Bronson, Mich.; also several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews survive as well.

Norma was preceded in death by her father, Henry A. Hyska.

Norma worked at Sorg Jewelers for more than 30 years in sales, purchasing and bookkeeping, retiring recently due to her illness.

She was a member of the DAV No. 19 Ladies Auxiliary, Elkhart Women of the Moose and the Syracuse Eagles No. 3760.

She loved doing ceramics, sewing, reading and Sudoku puzzles. She and Bill enjoyed camping, especially at Foxwood Hills Campground, where they were active in organizing activities for the adults and children of campers.

She will be fondly remembered by her nieces and nephews for the personal Christmas ornament she made for them each year.

Services celebrating Norma's life will begin at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 21, at the Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St.

Pastor Ray Caudill will officiate. Friends and family may gather from 4 p.m. until service time at Billings funeral home.
