Obituary
ELKHART — Norma Jean Campbell, 89, of Elkhart, passed away Tuesday evening, Jan. 27, at Elkhart General Hospital.
Norma was born Aug. 25, 1925, in Elkhart County to the late James and Maude Bell (Robison) Hawkins.
She married Wayne J. Campbell on Aug. 14, 1949, in Elkhart.
Wayne passed away March 30, 2005.
Surviving are her children, Darlene Campbell, Ted Campbell and Judy Campbell, all of Elkhart, and Tim Campbell of Ramrod Key, Fla. Several nieces, nephews and cousins survive as well.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters.
Norma worked for Elkhart Community School Corp. in the cafeteria. She worked at Pinewood, Eastwood, Brookdale Junior High School and Memorial High School. She formerly worked at the Old Bag Factory in Goshen.
Norma and her husband, Wayne, were avid campers; they were members of the Good Sam Club and Starcraft Campers Club. Norma enjoyed reading and was the family historian and genealogist.
A gathering of family and friends will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 1, at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St. Elkhart. Private burial will be in Prairie Street Cemetery.
