JONES -- Nicole Lee "Nicki" Black, 28, of 67751 Kessington Road, died at 3:08 a.m. Sunday (July 23, 2006) in Elkhart General Hospital after a sudden illness.

She was born May 15, 1978, in South Bend to Dwight and Terri L. (Miller) Whitworth. She married Eric Black on Sept. 26, 1997, in Elkhart.

He survives, along with two daughters, Kendall Nicole Black and Kaia Paige Black, both at home; one sister, Christy (Tom) Green of Elkhart; one brother, Ryan Wireman of Elkhart; two stepsisters, Stacy (Jerry) McGrath and Stephanie Freeze, both of Goshen; three stepbrothers, Kevin (Cindy) Wirt, Jon (Amanda) Wirt and Mitch (Layla) Wirt, all of Elkhart; her mother and stepfather, Terri L. and Douglas Miller-Wirt of Elkhart; her father and stepmother, Dwight and Peg Whitworth of Goshen; and grandparents, Vern and Ruth Miller of Plainfield, Ill., and Ralph and Mary Whitworth of Three Rivers.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart, where funeral services will take place at 10 a.m. Thursday. Pastor Bruce Yoder of Zion Chapel, Goshen, will officiate, and burial will be at Mottville Cemetery. Dinner at the 112 Club will follow the service at the cemetery.

Mrs. Black was employed at Dynamax for the past year. She was a 1997 graduate of Concord High School.
