ELKHART — Nellie Marie Potterbaum, 100, of Elkhart, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 18, in her residence.
She was born in Belknap, Ill., on May 12, 1913, to Thomas F. and Mary (Johnson) Bost.
Survivors include her daughter, Pauline (Emerson) DeFord of Elkhart; son Jack Sanders of Sun Lakes, Ariz.; two brothers, Carl Bost of Elkhart and Edward Bost of San Luis Obispo, Calif.; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; and her nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Potterbaum; son Paul Sanders; daughter Barbara Ann Sanders; three brothers, James Bost, Paul Bost and J.R. Graves; five sisters, Opal Skelton, Mildred Sanders, Doris Bost, Mary Walker and Bettie Hill.
Nellie worked at F.W. Means Towel & Uniform in Sangamon County, Ill., for more than 25 years as a press operator and later worked part-time at Judd Drug Store for 10 years.
She often attended Faith United Missionary Church in Elkhart.
The family will receive friends from 3 to 6 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 22, at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Feb. 24, at West Eden Cemetery in Cypress, Ill.
