It is with great sadness that the family of Neal Frederick Voorde, 45, announces his passing on Monday, December 6, 2021 at his residence in Indianapolis. Neal was born on September 24, 1976 in Elkhart, to Frederick J. and Sarah J. (Bicard) Voorde. He is survived by his loving parents Fred and Sarah Voorde; loving sister Paige M. Voorde; aunts, Margaret (Richard) Schafer, Joann (Dan) Robinson, Therese (John) Gardner, Joyce (Jack) Simper, Marge Voorde, and his uncle Don (Marlene) Voorde. Neal is also survived by loving cousins, Brian (Sonna) Schafer and Kora, Austin (Kelsey Newby) Schafer, Ashlyn Schafer, Beth (Jim) Malone, Tyler and Carter, Brenda Parker, and all his loving friends.

Teaching was in Neal's blood; he loved the teaching profession and especially his awesome students in his fourth grade class at Rosa Parks-Edison Elementary School, within the Metropolitan School District of Perry Township.

Neal formerly taught at Creston Middle School, Perry Middle School, and Clinton Young Elementary, all in Indianapolis, and Monger Elementary School in Elkhart.

A proud graduate of Purdue University, he loved to visit Key West, Florida, go camping, and was an accomplished woodworker. Neal enjoyed playing golf and coached girls golf. He will be dearly missed by his puppy Pryce, his precious Great Dane. Neal also loved concerts, playing guitar and cultivating a vegetable garden.

All are invited for a Memorial service for Neal beginning at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, December 11, 2021 at Rosa Parks Elementary School, 7525 Wellingshire Blvd., Indianapolis, IN 46217

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 14, 2021 at St. Vincent dePaul Catholic Church, 1108 S. Main St., Elkhart. Rev. Craig Borchard will officiate. Friends may call for 1 hour prior to the mass at the church. Cremation has taken place. Burial will follow in St. Vincent Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations are requested for a scholarship to be set up at a later date for Rosa Park Students. Arrangements are under the care of Billings Funeral Home, Elkhart. Condolences may be made on-line at www.billingsfuneralhome.com
