FORT SMITH, Ark. — Nathan C. Young, 32, of Fort Smith, and formerly of Elkhart, Ind., unexpectedly passed from this life into the next on the evening of Wednesday, June 26, 2013, at his residence, the victim of a violent crime.
He is survived by his fiancée, Kristen Gray; as well as his children, Kaitlyn and Jeramiah; his mother Vickie (Glenn Wallace) Young; and brothers James C. and Dewey L. Young. Other family members include Steve and Penny Young.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Clayton and Mary Lou Wright.
The family plans on traveling to La Crosse, Wis., in October to release Nathan's ashes, as he had originally planned to marry Kristen there during the same month. Nathan's free spirit led Kristen and himself across the country over the past several years, living in several states before settling down in Fort Smith. He had attended Elkhart Central High School and had worked at Heat and Frost Insulators of South Bend, Ind., on an oil rig in Oklahoma, and, most recently, at McCourt Manufacturing in Fort Smith.
A celebration of Nathan's life will take place at Billings Funeral Home in Elkhart on Tuesday, July 30, with visitation beginning at 5 p.m. followed by the memorial service at 7 p.m. Please join the family in sharing a memory or a prayer.
