ROCKWELL, N.C. -- Friends of Lance Cpl. Nathan Ross Elrod may call from 5 to 9 p.m. Saturday at Powles Funeral Home of Rockwell. Funeral services will take place at 2 p.m. Sunday at First Baptist Church Family Life Center, Rockwell. Benny L. Vickrey Sr., pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow in the church's cemetery with full military honors by the Marine Corps.

Mr. Elrod, 20, of Rockwell, died Saturday (Oct. 21, 2006) while serving as a U.S. Marine in Iraq.

He spent time in his younger years at the Osolo Township (Ind.) home of his grandparents, Ed and Helen Keim.

Memorials may be given to the church's building fund or the Injured Marine Semper Fi Fund, 825 College Blvd., Suite 102, Oceanside, CA 92057.
