Napoleon Halliburton, 64, of Elkhart, passed away on Thursday, June 25, 2020 at his home.
Napoleon was born in Elkhart, IN to the late Welton Bonds and Bessie Halliburton. He is preceded in death by his wife, Carmen Tutson-Halliburton whom passed away on January 9, 2011.
He is survived by his children, Ranesha Halliburton, Roshonda Gates, Carmen Gates, Marvin Gates, Markus Johnson, Sam Tutson and Samaria Tutson; siblings, Sharon (Joe) Stokes Bryson, Lawrence (Verna) Halliburton, Edwin Halliburton, Jonathon (Janie) Halliburton, Steven Halliburton, Wavey Bonds, Willie Bell Jr., Wayne Bonds, Wilton Bonds Jr., Eddie Words, Yolanda Willis, Delores "Fairy", Mary and Joanne Bonds; 24 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; his significant other Joyce Brown and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Napoleon served in the U.S. Army as a Tech Mechanic in Fort Knox. He was a lifelong resident of Elkhart and a visitor of Community Missionary Baptist Church and Canaan Baptist Church. He was a star basketball player. He enjoyed working on cars and was known as a "jack of all trades", he could fix anything. He also played guitar, the piano and sang. Napoleon wrote poetry, as well. He was also a Kansas City Chiefs fan. Most of all, Napoleon was a loving husband, father, family man and overall great person whom will be dearly missed.
A Celebration of Napoleon's Life Service will be held on Monday July 6, 2020 at 2:00 PM with visitation two hours before from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin Street, Elkhart, IN 46514. A Committal Service with military honors will take place at 12:00 PM, Thursday, July 23, 2020 in Prairie Street Cemetery.
