ELKHART — Naomi Henderson, 94, residing in Elkhart, passed away early Monday morning, Sept. 9, 2013, at Elkhart General Hospital of natural causes.
Naomi was born on June 3, 1919, in Morristown, Tenn., to the late Grover and Ethel Freeze. On July 11, 1944, she married James Harold Henderson. He passed away on Jan. 20, 1984, in Fort Wayne.
Surviving are her son, James R. Henderson of Elkhart; and two grandchildren, Steve Neel and Shelly Neel, both of Elkhart.
Preceding her in death were a daughter, Diana Lynn Neel; brothers Grover Cleveland "G.C." Lester and an infant brother; and sisters Opal Freeze and Ola Mae Frye.
Naomi was a homemaker and attended Greater Faith Fellowship in Mishawaka. She enjoyed reading her Bible and making quilts.
Graveside services will begin at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 11, 2013, at Osceola Cemetery, corner of Ash Road, Old U.S. 33 and C.R. 20, Elkhart.
Memorials may be made to charity of one's choice.
Naomi's arrangements are under the care and direction of Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart.
