Myrl P. McFarland, 86, of Elkhart, passed away on Thursday, March 11, 2021 at his residence. He was born in Elkhart on February 1, 1935 to the late Harry and Ada (Smith) McFarland.

He is survived by his loving wife, Sharon McFarland; sons, Steven (Ruby) McFarland and Roger (Lilly Argualla) McFarland; grandchildren, Royal DelaCruz and Christopher McFarland; great grandchildren, Gwynn, Elenore, and Sam; and cousin Vivian. He is preceded in death by his son, Kenneth J. McFarland; parents; and brothers, Wayne and Terry McFarland.

In accordance with the family's wishes, cremation will take place at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St. and Altera Cremation Services in Elkhart. Memorial donations may be given directly to Sharon McFarland.

Myrl was quiet man who often kept to himself most of the time, but he was a wonderful husband and loving father. He worked for Bendix-Honeywell for 30 years as an electronics technician and served proudly in the United States Navy. Myrl lived in Elkhart for most of his life but whenever he had the chance, he enjoyed traveling with his loving wife by his side in their motor home. Some of their favorite places to visit was the Grand Canyon and Yosemite. Myrl will be missed greatly by his loving family.
