Mrs. Muktaben D. "Mukta" Soni, 86, of Elkhart, passed away peacefully within the comfort of her home on Thursday, July 1, 2021 at 7:30 am. She was born on July 12, 1934 in Sabhadia, India to the late Kanjibhai and Kamlaben Soni, and is preceded in death by her husband, Dhirajlal Soni, who passed away in India in 2013.

Among those who have survived Mukta are her sons Nilesh and Ramesh Soni; daughters Rama Natvar Soni, Jayshree Jagdish Kukadia and Bhadra Mahesh Rojpura, 11 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

Billings Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Elkhart have been assisting the family with cremation arrangements. On Tuesday, July 6, 2021 the family is meeting at the funeral home's actual cremation facility, Altera Cremation Services, at 54125 Violet Road, Elkhart for a private Hindu Shraddha Ceremony there.

Mukta was a dedicated homemaker and mother who saw to it that although she herself never received a formal education, all of her sons and daughters were college graduates. She was also a devout Hindu and loved reading and studying her Gita (Hindu "bible").

Memorial donations may be given to either the family or to a charity of one's choice.
