Obituary
ELKHART -- Mortimer C. "Mort" Kohn, 92, residing in Elkhart, passed away Friday evening, March 3, 2011, at his home.
He was born May 1, 1918, in Salamanca, N.Y. He married Dorothy Lippman on Aug. 6, 1966, in Buffalo, N.Y.
Surviving are his wife, Dorothy Kohn of Elkhart; one daughter, Bobbi (Robert) Meyers of Granger; one son, Dr. Michael J. (Kelly) Lippman of Seattle; three grandsons, Adam (Rachael) Meyers of Elkhart, Andrew Meyers of Indianapolis and Noah Lippman of Seattle, Wash.; and one granddaughter, Sara Lippman of Seattle; and his sister, Sylvia Greenfield of Toledo, Ohio.
Mortimer was a graduate of the University of Michigan who enjoyed many sports, especially golf. He was the owner/operator of Kohn's Fashion Shop in Salamanca for 35 years. Mort and Dorothy were often seen walking their neighborhood.
A funeral service for Mr. Kohn will be at 5 p.m. Monday, March 14, 2011, at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart, where friends may visit with the family beginning at 4 p.m. Private burial will be at Rice Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials be made to CAPS, 1000 W. Hively Ave., Elkhart, IN 46517.
