Mildred "Joann" (Ramsey) Moir, 87, of Elkhart, passed away on Tuesday, August 22, 2023, at her home. She was born on October 26, 1935, in Somerset, KY, to the late Odie and Nora (Miller) Ramsey.

Joann is survived by her loving children, Florence "Jean" Ramsey, Melissa Moir, and Bill (Susan) Burns, all of Elkhart; grandchildren, Robin (Jim) Hill of Elkhart, Michael (Jessica) Moir of NC, and Aaron (Ashley) Grant of VA; great grandchildren, Lila Hill, Lucas Bradshaw, Angela Bradshaw, and Brianna Moir; great-great grandson, Vincent Hill; and a loving host of extended family and friends.

Joann was preceded in death by her loving husband of 27 years, Merle Moir; her parents; and five siblings.

In accordance with Joann's wishes, cremation has been chosen and a private graveside service will occur at a later date at Olive West Cemetery. Billings Funeral Home of Elkhart has been assisting the family with arrangements.

Joann worked as a secretary for Bayer for over 25 years. In her spare time, she enjoyed knitting and sewing blankets, quilts, scarves, and hats. She was most proud of creating her own patterns for her projects, always making sure to create a unique piece each time for someone to enjoy.

Most important to Joann was her family. She adored spending quality time with her children and grandchildren, who always brought her joy and smiles.

Joann, along with all the love and joy she shared, will be dearly missed by those whose hearts she touched throughout her life.
