Obituary

ELKHART — Mildred Ann "Millie" (Wildoner) DeJohn, 75 of Elkhart, passed away Monday, Oct. 23, 2017, at Eastlake Nursing & Rehabilitation Center; she was diagnosed with Alzheimer's in August 2016.

Millie was born Nov. 5, 1941, in Marion, the daughter of the late James and Crystal (Rogers) Wildoner.

She was also preceded in death by her brother, James E. Wildoner.

Millie's family moved from Gas City, with the Thurman Family to Newaygo, Michigan.

Newaygo was where she met and fell in love with her husband, Phil, while attending Newaygo High School.

On March 31, 1959, she married Phillip J. DeJohn at St. Bartholomew Church in Newaygo.

Surviving are her husband, Philip DeJohn; five children, Doreen (DeJohn) Kloosterman of Bristol, Phil DeJohn of Grabill, Lillese (Marge Reynolds) DeJohn of Cassopolis, Michigan, John (Cheryl) DeJohn and Paul (Julie) DeJohn, both of Elkhart; nine grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Millie was a business partner with her husband, Phil, of DeJohn Advertising Agency.

She also studied and passed her Property & Casualty License in October of 2003.

She enjoyed reading, gardening and was a women of strong faith.

She cherished being wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

She was many people's best friend and was truly loved by all.

Services celebrating Millie's life will begin at 6 p.m. Friday, Oct. 27, at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart.

Friends may call from 5 p.m. until service time, with additional visitation until 8 p.m.

Chaplain John Schrock of Harbor Light Hospice will officiate.

Private family burial will be in Newaygo Cemetery.

The family kindly request memorials to Harbor Light Hospice.
