ELKHART — Mildred Faye James, 71, of Elkhart, passed away Sunday, Jan. 10, at her residence.
She was born Feb. 23, 1944, in Elkhart, to the late Harold and Jean (Staub) Wogomon.
In addition to her parents, a sister, Jeannie Edwards, and grandson Aaron Dooley preceded her in death.
Surviving are her husband, David A. James, whom she married Jan. 12, 1973; children Holly Dooley, Jacqueline (Glenn) Wagner, Jeffery (Judy) Hemminger and Melissa Smith; stepchildren Linda (Fred) Bowlin, Rick James, Jana Eddings and Betty McGarity; six grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; eight stepgrandchildren; sister Patricia Lookingbill; and a brother, Kenneth (Heather) Wogomon.
Mildred was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed board games and computer games and was an avid reader.
In keeping with her wishes, cremation has taken place.
A celebration of life gathering will be from 3 to 5 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 16, at the home of her daughter, Jacqueline and Glenn Wagner.
