Miguel "Mikey" Angel Garcia, Jr., 38, of Elkhart, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, October 10, 2025.

Mikey was born on May 30, 1987 in Elkhart, IN to Miguel Angel Garcia Sr, and Christine Michelle (Fox) Garcia. He was married to the love of his life, Ashlee Smith-Garcia on December 2, 2017 in Goshen, IN.

Mikey was preceded in death by his mother, Christine Garcia; and grandparents, Paul and Mary Fox.

Mikey is survived by his wife, Ashlee Smith Garcia; brother, Alex (Kimberly) Garcia; father, Miguel A. Garcia, Sr., Aunt, Jennifer Fox; Uncles, Paul (Lena) Fox and Joseph Fox; sister-in-law, Shawna (Brian) Van Hook, close nieces and nephews, Jandro, Carmella and Emmanuel Garcia and Paislee, Hunter, Colton Van Hook; and several close cousins, Lee Fox, Rachelle Fox-Stanley, Jarred Fox, Ebony Gills and Destiny Gills; and many friends.

Mikey was a graduate of Concord High School in 2005. He was a chef at Notre Dame, Corndance and most recently at the South Bend Cubs. Mikey was a skilled welder at L and W Engineering, as well.

Mikey enjoyed playing sports especially baseball, basketball and football and he enjoyed cheering on his beloved Notre Dame Fighting Irish.

Uncle Mikey, as he was affectionately known, had a big heart. He enjoyed talking with anyone and never judged another person.

A visitation for family and friends will be from 5:00pm to 7:00pm on Wednesday, October 15, 2025 at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart, IN 46514.
