Mr. Motruk was born Feb. 18, 1925, in the Ukraine to Proka and Anna Motruk. He married Eudokia Szkrumelak in June 1966 in Chicago. She died in February 1997.

He is survived by one stepdaughter, Maria (Terry) Beatty of Milford; three stepsons, Nick (Rita) Szkrumelak and Mike Szkrumelak, both of Milford, and John (Pat) Szkrumelak of Lakewood, Colo.; three stepgrandchildren; three stepgreat-grandchildren; and two sisters, Rose Lotocki of New York and Pearl Kitura of Cleveland.

No visitation or services are planned. Cremation has taken place, with burial planned for a later date in Oakridge Cemetery, Goshen.

Mr. Motruk arrived in the United States in the 1960s. He worked assembling band instruments in Chicago. After moving to the area, he worked for and retired from Coppes Kitchens in Nappanee. He was a longtime member of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, Goshen. He enjoyed working with wood and making knickknacks and furniture for his family and friends.
