ELKHART — Micheal A. "Mike" O'Bryant, 76, of Elkhart, passed away Sunday, Oct. 11, at Elkhart General Hospital.
He was born Sept. 5, 1939, in Buchanan, Mich., to Alfred and Lucille (Ritter) O'Bryant.
On Nov. 5, 1960, he married his wife of 54 years, Helen R. (Harroff) O'Bryant.
In addition to his wife, survivors include one daughter, Michelle O'Bryant of Elkhart; one son, Tim (Debi) O'Bryant of Aumsville, Ore.; one brother, Donald O'Bryant of Niles, Mich.; one sister, Kathryn Capps of Advance, Mo.; and four grandchildren, Dru, Caitlin, Michael and Nicholas O'Bryant, all of Aumsville.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Richard O'Bryant.
Mike was employed as a general manager of Holiday Rambler for many years. He later served as a general manager of Best Plastics, prior to his retirement in 2001.
He was a fourth degree member of Knights of Columbus St. Jude Council 1043 in Elkhart and a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church.
Mike was an avid Notre Dame football fan and enjoyed spending time fishing and going to Alabama to spend winters with his wife, Helen.
The family will receive friends from 3 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 14, with a rosary service at 6:30 p.m. at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart. A Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 15, at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Elkhart. Visitation will be for an hour prior to the funeral service. The Rev. Zackery Barry will officiate. Inurnment will be at a later date in St. Vincent Cemetery.
Memorials may be made in memory of Mike to the American Heart Association or American Cancer Society.
