Michael Jan Walters, 68, of Elkhart, passed away Monday morning, July 20, 2020 at the Center for Hospice Care, Elkhart Hospice House. A native of Nappanee, he was born on July 2, 1952 to the late George William and Virginia May (Tye) Walters.

He is survived by his son James Walters and wife Jessica; as well as his three grandchildren, Carter, Faith and Brandon.

Michael worked as a warehouse manager for Parkway Mobile Homes. He served in the U.S Army.

Mike loved and collected lighthouses, he traveled extensively, visiting Greece, Rome, Germany and stood on the deck of the USS Missouri at Pearl Harbor. He also bowled in leagues and played poker with his buddies, but the most important person in his life was his son, whom he was very proud.

In honoring Michael's wishes, no visitation or services are planned at this time, cremation was chosen under the care of Billings Funeral Home and Altera Cremation of Elkhart. On-line condolences may be sent to his son James, by visiting the Billings Funeral Home website.
