Michael Lynn Vickers, 72, of Elkhart, passed away on Thursday, May 19, 2022, at Elkhart General Hospital. He was born on April 25, 1950, in Elkhart to the late Donald and Geraldine (Watkins) Vickers.

Michael is survived by his girlfriend, Victoria Bayes; son, Jason (Megan) Vickers; daughter, Charlotte (Todd) Hines; sister, Sandra O'Neal; and four grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Donald Vickers; and his brother-in-law, Tom O'Neal.

In accordance with Michael's wishes, cremation was chosen and will take place at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St. in Elkhart, IN. Michael will be laid to rest at Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, VA at a later date.

Michael proudly served in the United States Army where he was involved in many tours in Vietnam. When he was back in the states, he worked for many years as a punch press machine builder for L & J Press.

During his free time, he enjoyed riding motorcycles, most notably preferring Indians and Harley Davidson bikes. Michael enjoyed motorcycle rides because they allowed him to feel free, something he so desired. He was also known to take trips to Las Vegas, NV to visit the casinos on the Strip. Recently, Michael found a passion for oil painting, curating different scenic images with his creativity and paintbrush strokes. He will be greatly missed by his family.
