ELKHART: Michael Ray Sailor, 62, passed away Saturday, August 11, 2018 at his residence. Mike was born on October 9, 1955 in Elkhart, to the late George J. and Susan Marie (Minichillo) Sailor. In addition to his parents, a sister Anna Craigo and two nephews, Scott Sailor and John Craigo preceded Mike in death.
Surviving is his daughter, Angie (Ryan) Dahlman; 4 sisters, Maria (Ronald) Walter, Therese Sailor, Cathy Sailor and Lisa Tibbett; 5 brothers Leonard (Pam) Sailor, Paul Sailor, Joseph Sailor, Stephen (Glenda) Sailor and Louis (Ricklyn) Sailor; also 25 nieces and nephews survive as well.
Mike worked in construction for many years. He was an usher at St. Vincent dePaul. Most of all he was a kind, generous and compassionate person, with a great sense of humor, who would help anyone out at any time. He enjoyed all sports, but especially was a huge Notre Dame Fan.
A gathering of family and friends will be Thursday, Aug. 16, from 5-7 pm. at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St. Elkhart. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am., Friday, Aug. 17, at St. Vincent dePaul Catholic Church, with visitation 1 hour prior to mass. Rev. Patrick Hake will officiate. Burial of his cremated remains will follow at St. Vincent Cemetery. The family kindly request donations in Mike's name to any area food bank.
