Michael "Mike" S. Harmon, 71, of Elkhart, passed away on Wednesday, September 18, 2024, surrounded by his children. He was born in Elkhart on September 23, 1952, to the late Eugene and Eva (Hoffman) Harmon.

Mike is also preceded in death by his sister, Cindy Thurston. He is survived by his children, Jonathan "Jon" (Tasha) Harmon, Ashley (Marty) Moyer, and Spencer (Karsyne) Harmon; grandchildren, Gavin M. Harmon, Nathan T. Harmon, M.J. Moyer, Ryan M. Moyer, and Brandi Osborne; great grandchildren, Blake Harmon and Hudson Harmon; siblings, Jana Workman and Mark E. Harmon; and several nieces and nephews.

In accordance with Mike's wishes, cremation was chosen. Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 5, 2024, from 1-3 p.m. at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St. in Elkhart. A celebration of life and sharing of memories service will follow at 3:00 p.m. with Pastor Jeremy Sarber officiating. Mike was a loving father and a hard worker. He worked for United Trailers as a welder for over 20 years before retiring. In his early years, he was very athletic and enjoyed playing softball on the Elkhart Parks Department Team from 1973 to 1989. Mike helped his team win three district championships. He was a member of the Elkhart Jaycees and would help them put together their annual Halloween haunted house and hayrides.

Mike loved fishing in his spare time and taking his kids tubing on Baldwin Lake in the summer. He enjoyed riding four wheelers and watching sports. Mike always cheered on his favorite football teams, Notre Dame and the Chicago Bears and the Indiana Fever with Caitlin Clark. Mike will be missed by his loving family and friends.
