ELKHART — Michael Dean "Mike" Treacher, 55, of Elkhart, passed away peacefully at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis following complications from heart surgery Tuesday morning, Dec. 13.
He was born Aug. 17, 1961, in Coldwater, Mich., to the late Alton and Donna (Green) Treacher.
He married the love of his life June 3, 1989, in Elkhart, when he asked Lee-Ann Sharp to be his bride. After 30 years, she survives him at home.
Mike also leaves behind his sons, Quincy Michael and Charles Kenneth Treacher, both of Elkhart; brothers Craig (Karen) Treacher of Selinsgrove, Pa. and Mark (Jeannie) Treacher of White Pigeon, Mich; and his sister, Deanna Earl of Quincy, Mich.
Billings Funeral Home of Elkhart is honored to host Mike's celebration of life, beginning with a viewing from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 18, followed by a remembrance service at 3 p.m.
In accordance with his wishes, cremation will follow Mike's service.
Mike had worked full time at Thor Industries as a metal fabricator and welder for 14 years, but was most recognized from delivering pizza to the front doors of countless Elkhart homes as a delivery driver for Volcano's Pizza for the last 18 years.
He enjoyed watching sports, especially the Cubs and playing golf.
He was also an avid animal lover and will be best remembered sitting outside in his yard with his wife and his dog, having a cold one and listening to WVPE play another blues tune.
Memorial donations may be given to the ASPCA or the Humane Society of Elkhart County.
